About
6play History, Coverage, Features
6play is a French video on-demand service that is owned and operated by the M6 Group. It was launched on November 4, 2013 as a replacement for M6 Replay, the group’s previous VOD service.
Over the years, 6play has evolved into a general entertainment service, with most of its programming having to do with movies, TV series, reality shows, children’s shows, magazine shows, sports, documentaries, and more.
Speaking about sports, 6play has offered coverage of different disciplines and competitions both live and on-demand. Some of the sports covered by this platform over the years have included horse racing, extreme sports, hockey, and football. The service has also provided additional coverage to live events via dedicated highlights shows.
6play’s football offer has mostly been related to the French National Teams for men and women. When it comes to the men’s side, 6play has streamed content for the UEFA Nations League, as well as for the team’s road to the UEFA European championship. Added to that, the platform has also covered games for the UEFA U-21 Euro.
The women’s team has also been streamed via this platform, with special attention being set on their road to European championships. Friendly matches have also been available for fans to stream.
Fans can access 6play via the service’s website, via ADSL boxes, and via apps for phones and tablets working with iOS, Android, or Windows.
