About beIN Sports MAX 9

BeIN Sports is a French network of sports channels owned by Qatari Sports Investment and operated by Mediapro. It was launched on June 1, 2012 as Al Jazeera Sport, but it would promptly be changed to beIN Sport. The network would end up adopting its current name in 2014.

Over the years, beIN Sports has covered all sorts of disciplines with special focus on team sports such as football, basketball, rugby, baseball, handball, American football, and volleyball. Other sports covered by beIN Sports throughout its history include athletics, boxing, cycling, swimming, tennis, and Olympic disciplines.

BeIN Sports MAX 9 is the sixth major overflow to beIN Sports’ regular channels. It was launched on August 10, 2012 along with six more channels that are made available when necessary. The channel’s programming has usually included football or basketball and has come in handy to cover big events such as the Olympic Games and team sport competitions.

Speaking about football, beIN Sports MAX 9 has covered domestic club competitions such as the French Ligue 2, the Bundesliga, the Spanish Primera División, the Italian Serie A, the English EFL Championship, the English FA Cup, the Turkish Super Lig, and American leagues such as the Argentine Superliga and the MLS.

When it comes to international football, beIN Sports MAX 9 has offered coverage for the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA European championship, the Copa América, the African Cup of Nations, FIFA World Cup qualifying matches for CONMEBOL and CAF, and the FIFA World Cup.

BeIN Sports MAX 9 was launched as an SD channel, but it later migrated to an HD feed on January 1, 2014. A state-of-the-art 4K feed was made available to its users in 2018 for some FIFA World Cup games. BeIN Sports has nine sister channels: beIN Sports 1, beIN Sports 2, beIN Sports 3, beIN Sports MAX 4, beIN Sports MAX 5, beIN Sports MAX 6, beIN Sports MAX 7, beIN Sports MAX 8, and beIN Sports MAX 10.

	UEFA Champions League (2021-2024) BeIN Sports has acquired exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League in France for the 2021-2024 period. The pay-TV broadcaster’s subscribers will have access to 104 live matches every season, in addition to the highlights of every game. BeIN Sports will air live Champions League matches in high definition on its family of French-language TV channels and stream the action live on its digital platform, beIN Sports Connect. 	Spain - La Liga (2021-2024)
	Italy - Serie A (2021-2024) beIN Sports has maintained its exclusive broadcast rights to Serie A in France following a three year deal with Infront, Serie A’s media rights partner. This deal will run from the 2021/22 to 2023/2024 Serie A seasons. Fans will be able to access matches both live and on-demand via beIN Sports’ family of channels as well as its corresponding app to follow games using tablets, computers, mobiles, and smart TVs. 	Germany - Bundesliga (2021-2025) Pay-TV network BeIN Sports has extended their exclusive broadcast rights for Germany’s Bundesliga in France. Under terms of the deal, which runs for four years through the end of the 2024/2025 Bundesliga season, BeIN Sports will provide live TV broadcasts through its family of channels, while live streaming and on-demand access will be offered through its corresponding app, beIN CONNECT.
