About Digi Sport 2 Romania
Digi Sport 2 is a Romanian sports television channel owned and operated by Digi Communications. The channel was launched on July 23, 2009 as an overflow channel to Digi Sport 1, the flagship channel of the network that includes four more channels: Digi Sport 1, Digi Sport 3, Digi Sport 4, and Digi Sport 4K.
Over the years, Digi Sport 2 has made a name for itself with its detailed sports coverage, which has included disciplines such as football, motorsports, handball, tennis, kickboxing, basketball, volleyball, and more. While the channel has dedicated most of its airtime to broadcast domestic competitions, international leagues and tournaments have also been covered on this channel.
When it comes to football, Digi Sport 2 has covered games for leagues such as La Liga, the Italian Serie A, the German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1, and Romania’s Liga 1 and Liga 2. Cup tournaments such as the Spanish Super Cup, the Supercoppa Italiana, the DFL Supercup, and the Romanian Super Cup have also been covered on this channel. Speaking of continental competitions, Digi Sport 2 has covered games for the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. Additional coverage such as highlights, replays, and sports news shows has also been included in the channel’s programming over the years.
Digi Sport 2 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was made available to its users in 2011. Both feeds may still be available for users to watch in most regions of the country.
