Nova S is a commercial television channel owned and operated by the United Group. The channel was launched on December 15, 2017 under the name Top. Eventually, the channel would be rebranded to Nova S on March 13, 2019.
Over the years, Nova S has been labeled as a general entertainment channel, with topics such as TV series, news broadcasts, children’s programming, reality shows, sports and more being available to watch on this channel. While most of the content aired by the channel has been produced abroad, there have been some in-house productions to increase the channel’s popularity in the country.
When it comes to sports, Nova S has focused on covering live football games, with leagues such as the English Premier League, the Spanish Primera División, the Portuguese Primeira Liga , the Dutch Eredivisie , or the Turkish Super League being available on this channel. Other tournaments covered on Nova S have included the UEFA Euro, the UEFA Nations League, and Qualifying matches for the UEFA Euro and the FIFA World Cup. Basketball events, tennis competitions, motorsports, and American football matches have been covered on Nova S as an overflow option to Nova Sport, the network’s main sports channel.
Nova S was launched as a High-Definition channel, but users who do not have access to that technology might be able to watch this channel via a downscaled version of the channel available in certain pay-tv carriers.
