About RAI Sport 1
Rai Sport 1 is a sports-dedicated television network in Italy operated by public broadcasting service RAI. The channel has an alternate version in HD known as Rai Sport+ HD, which airs in 1080i. Rai Sport 1 was first launched in February 1999 as Rai Sport Satellite, which was related to the fact that it was available on digital television terrestrially and via satellite. It then changed its name to Rai Sport Più in 2008, before becoming Rai Sport + in 2009, then Rai Sport 1 in 2010 after a restructuring of Rai networks.
In the past, Rai Sport 1 has covered various sports, including boxing, skiing, and swimming.

RAI networks are available in other European countries, including Albania, Bosnia, Croatia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, San Marino, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
RAI operates several free-to-air TV networks, including Rai 1, Rai 2, Rai 3, Rai 4, and Rai 5.
