About Sub

Sub is a Finnish television channel owned and operated by MTV Oy. This channel was launched under the name TVTV! On February 1, 2000. That name would not last long, as the network would be rebranded to Subtv on August 1, 2001. After seven years, the channel would finally be known simply as Sub from 2008 on.

Over the years, Sub has been categorized as an entertainment channel. Most of the channel’s shows have been produced overseas, but domestic versions of such programs have also found airtime in this channel. TV series, drama shows, sitcoms, reality shows, and other types of shows have been aired by this channel. The network’s target audience has focused on reaching teenagers and young adults between 16 and 29 years of age.

Sub saw the light as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was developed and eventually launched in 2013. Both feeds and a downscaled version of the HD feed may be available for users to watch in most regions of the country.
