JOJ Plus is a Slovak television channel that is owned and operated by J&T Media Enterprises. This channel was launched on October 5, 2008 under the name TV Global, but that would change in 2011, when the network became known simply as Plus until 2020. The channel would once again be rebranded to JOJ Plus on October 5, 2020.
Over the years, JOJ Plus was known as a channel that simply aired reruns of the shows aired on TV JOJ, its major sister channel. Nevertheless, that changed in January 2013 when the channel aired its first original series. Since then, the channel has included news, journalistic shows, magazine shows, documentaries, animated series, reality shows, films, and more. While most of JOJ Plus’ content comes from abroad, in-house productions have also been included in its programming.
Being a general entertainment channel, JOJ Plus has only aired sports-related content via its news broadcasts, which have also included a sports-specific news show. No live content has been aired on this channel but plans to include sports in its grid have reportedly been set in motion.
JOJ Plus was launched as a Standard Definition channel. Nevertheless, a High-Definition feed was developed and eventually aired after its rebranding in 2020. Both feeds may still be available on certain pay-tv carriers in the country.
