TV 12 is a Swedish television channel owned and operated by the TV4 Media Group. The channel was launched on March 29, 2014 as a replacement to the channel TV4 Sport Extra. Since its launch, TV 12 has been considered as a sports channel, although there have been other shows added to its grid that have expanded the topics it has covered as time has gone by.
Added to its sports coverage, TV 12 has also added lifestyle shows and feature films to increase its ratings and audience. The channel’s format has seen lifestyle shows and movies being shown during the week, while sports broadcasts and movies take over during the weekends. The channel welcomes both men and women as their target audience.
Speaking about sports, TV 12 has specialized on covering winter sports such as Bandy, and European football tournaments, both domestic and international. Some of the competitions covered on this channel have included the French Ligue 1, the Swedish Superettan, and the Italian Serie A. The channel has also featured World Cup Qualifying games and friendly matches for the Swedish National team.
TV 12 was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was developed and launched during the second half of the 2010s. Both feeds might still be available for users to watch in some regions of the country.
