Giant-killers Grimsby angling for FA Cup fairytale at Brighton
AFP (1 week ago)
Cheered on by thousands of fans brandishing inflatable haddock, Grimsby aim to catch another big fish when the fourth-tier minnows face Brighton in their first FA Cup quarter-final for 84 years on Sunday.

About National League

The National League is the English football league system’s fifth-highest championship and the National League System’s highest division. Founded in 1979, the competition was previously known as the Conference National. It consists of a mix of professional and semi-professional sides. Clubs participating in the National League are able to take part in the English FA Cup. A total of 24 teams participate in this competition via a double round-robin format, meaning each club faces every other team twice per season. The champions earn automatic promotion to the EFL League Two while the worst performers get relegated to the National League North and the National League South.
