The GCC Champions League was an annual league contested by clubs from the Arabian Peninsula. Formerly known as the Gulf Cup for Clubs, the tournament began in 1982 and was last played in 2015. Despite the initial popularity surrounding the GCC Champions League, the rise of the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup sparked this competition’s demise.
