About Prva Liga
The Slovenian First Football League, also known as the Prva Liga, is the highest division league in Slovenia. The championship was founded in 1991 after the nation gained its independence, with Olimpija winning the inaugural title.
A total of 10 teams contest for the title in the Prva Liga, with each club facing the other nine four times per season – twice at home and twice away – for a total of 36 Matchdays. The champion earns a ticket to the UEFA Champions League while the last-placed side gets relegated to the Slovenian Second League, the nation’s second division.
