Olympique Marseille's coach said the club’s president, Vincent Labrune, “made him promises he couldn’t keep” regarding this summer’s transfers.

Argentinian coach Marcelo Bielsa showed his concern about the team’s performance during this transfer window. “El Loco” is not happy with his president, Vincent Labrune, who did not consult him on any transfer made by Olympique Marseille during this summer:

“I couldn’t take a stand. I think the president made me promises he couldn’t keep. I asked for twelve specific players and he didn’t come through with any of them,” Bielsa told the press.

“I just learned on Monday we would be signing (defender) Doria, and I didn’t agree on that. Honestly, the gap between what I had imagined and what we will have is going to be enormous,” coach Bielsa added.

Prior to a friendly match against Arles-Avignon from France’s Ligue 2, Bielsa will have to face this tournament with a different point of view.

“I will take on this challenge with joy and optimism, I’m not going to step aside. But I want to make it very clear, I’m truly disappointed with how things are handled here, “Bielsa concluded.

OM has earned seven points in four matches, winning their last two games in Ligue 1.
