The Mexican shot-stopper has not been able to earn the starting job with Malaga after his superb World Cup, and the Reds would sign him to take Simon Mignolet's place.

Liverpool may have added some Mexican flavor to their squad. Sources indicate the Reds would have reached a 3 million pound deal for shot-stopper Guillermo Ochoa from Malaga. The Mexican goalie arrived to the Spanish side this summer, but has not been able to start a single game in La Liga this semester, with coach Javi Gracia starting Cameroonian Carlos Kameni.

Ochoa, starter for Mexico during the past World Cup, was sought out by several teams after his performance with his National Team, being seduced by the Spanish outfit. Due to his lack of activity, Ochoa requested to be transferred and apparently his future would be linked to Brendan Rodgers' crew.

To fuel up rumors, Ochoa started following Liverpool's Twitter account minutes after the team revealed Brendan Rodgers had dropped Simon Mignolet indefinitely before last Sunday's matchup against Manchester United.

If Ochoa's move can't be completed, then Brendan Rodgers would settle with Chelsea's Petr Cech, who apparently could be willing to join the Merseyside team on loan, given the few opportunities he has enjoyed this season.
