The Cityzens star teed up Foden for the Man City's second goal against the Saints, a feat which landed him in the records book.

Kevin de Bruyne, known by many as the best creative midfielder in the world right now, has made history!

The Belgian ace has broken one – and possibly not the last – assists record this term, with the Etihad Stadium ace achieving this feat in Saturday's early clash with Southampton.

Guardiola's side welcomed the Saints in Matchweek 10 knowing a win could see them wrestle the top spot away from Arsenal, should the Gunners suffer a slip-up at home to Liverpool on Sunday. And after just over half an hour, Haaland and Co. all but secured the victory.

The hosts went 1-0 up after only 20 minutes, with Phil Foden setting up Cancelo for the opening goal. Twelve minutes later, the young English talent went from provider to scorer and grabbed Man City's second of the night, with De Bruyne teeing up the Three Lions starlet this time around.

And while the set-up for Foden's goal wasn't particularly spectacular, it was enough to land Kevin in the records book. Just like that, the former Wolfsburg ace surpassed club legend David Silva to become Manchester City's all-time assist provider in the Premier League, with the 31-year-old now boasting 94 to his name compared to the Spanish maestro's 93 during his time with the Cityzens.

Additionally, De Bruyne overtook Dennis Bergkamp in the Premier League's list of all-time assist providers and has now entered the top five, trailing only Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Cesc Fabregas, and Ryan Giggs.

The City midfielder now has nine assists to his name this season in the Premier League, meaning he has 29 games left to break the record for most assists in a single campaign, a record he currently shares with Arsenal icon Thierry Henry (20).
