Following a rather tactically astute victory over Borussia Dortmund, Bayern will take on another team which likes to press incessantly in Leverkusen. Leverkusen is in better form than Dortmund currently, having won their last five on the trot in the Bundesliga. They are more incisive with their passing in the final third than the Ruhr side. Bayern will also have to watch out for the likes Hakan Calhanoglu.
Bayern's Xabi Alonso is looking to win the domestic Cup in a third country, having won the FA Cup in England with Liverpool and the Copa Del Rey with Real Madrid in Spain. This is what he had to say, according to ESPN FC:
"I want to win it here too. We still have two steps to go. It's make-or-break."
Thomas Müller meanwhile talked about the playing style of Bayern against Dortmund and whether or not Bayern will take the same approach to Leverkusen. This is what he said, as per ESPN FC:
"It certainly won't hurt on Wednesday if we show the same utter determination to win as we did in Dortmund."
"It's a knockout match and there's such a lot at stake so we won't throw caution to the wind, we'll defend well as a team. But parking the bus on the edge of our own penalty area isn't our new tactical plan."
Meanwhile, the Bayern twitter page has an update about Bastian Schweinsteiger:
