Suarez spent three seasons with Liverpool before joining Barcelona. He feels his current team is a strong candidate to hoist La Orejona.

Luis Suárez claimed he was tired of the way he was treated by the media as he exited Liverpool last summer. Some months later, he claims that the reason he joined Barcelona was to win important titles like the UEFA Champions League.

The Uruguayan striker had to see his first games in Barcelona from the stands as he fulfilled a suspension for biting Giorgio Chiellini in the World Cup. Since his debut in October against Real Madrid, Suárez has scored 16 goals in 32 games.

The 28-year-old forward is convinced he did the right thing by switching sides. With Liverpool he only found success in 2012 when they won the League Cup. In this transition, he has gone from star to playing a “supporting” role in Barcelona.

Suarez’ desire to win comes from his humble beginnings in Montevideo, Uruguay. Now that he has reached the top of his sport, he does not forget where he came from. He remembers his obsession with winning from a very young age.

“Playing without shoes on the street making balls out of paper… those ae things that you learn from a young age. They give you something even now, and you try and rise to the occasion.”
