Seven weeks after the first New York Derby, NYC FC will welcome New York Red Bulls to Yankee Stadium for a re-match on Sunday, June 28th. Read on to find some online streaming & live TV listings options for NYC FC vs. New York Red Bulls.

A bit under two months ago - seven weeks to be exact - a new derby was born. Just as Manchester have the famous Manchester Derby between Manchester United and Manchester City, Rome have the Derby della Capitale between Lazio and Roma and Milan the Derby della Madonnina between AC Milan and Inter, New York now has one of their own between NYC FC and the New York Red Bulls.

The first ever meeting between the "red" and "blue" sides of New York on May 10th ended as a 2-1 win in favour of the Red Bulls, with Bradley Wright-Phillips netting a brace. Heading into that game, it was the Red Bulls who were in a rich vein of form, with just one loss in their last eight games, whilst NYC were still struggling to find their footing with one win in their past six matches.

Well, now the tables have turned. Jason Kreis's men are on the up-and-up after finishing May with just one league win in their past 13 matches. Since concluding the month with a 1-1 draw against Houston Dynamo, one of MLS's newest teams has won three matches on the trot and will be hungry to wrap up this month with a vital and morale-boosting win at Yankee Stadium.

"They got the best of us the first time around so we're looking forward to having them on our [home] grounds," defender Jason Hernandez, who interestingly began his professional career with the Red Bulls (then known as the MetroStars in 2005), noted prior to today's highly anticipated derby.

And legendary striker and team skipper David Villa, who has scored four goals in his past four games, including both in their last win over Toronto is hungry to finally open his account against his team's bitter rivals in front of the team's home crowd.

"It's not personal, but we want to win and we're going to fight for the three points. Ultimately, we want our fans to be proud of being New York City fans and it's clear if we have a good game, we'll be able to get those three points," the former Atletico Madrid and Barcelona striker stated.

Meanwhile, if the derby has spurred NYC to improve, the Red Bulls have taken a shocking downturn. Until grinding out a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake - who played much of the match with nine men - they were unable to win a single game since the derby on May 10th. In fact, their dismal run of form saw them lose four straight games - their worst ever run in years - and earn only one point from their past five games.

Despite the win to break their poor streak, captain Dax McCarty was not impressed with his squad and has called on his colleagues to do better as they seek to make it a double over their cross-town rivals later today.

"It's [really] frustrating to play against nine men and not be able to get that second goal. That's totally unacceptable and we have a lot of work to do on the attacking end. But three points is all that matters."

Certainly, the return of attackers Sacha Kljestan and Lloyd Sam will lift McCarty's spirits. Kljestan missed out on their last game due to a ban whilst Sam has reportedly recovered from a groin injury.

Finally, Red Bulls coach Jesse Marsch believes that this time will not be an easy win for his squad, and not just because of his opponents' improved form over the past few weeks.

"[Yankee Stadium] is a [really] small field," he analysed. “Even when you watch it on TV, it doesn't look like the easiest place to play. We're going to have to go there and really emphasize moving as a unit, being aware, being alert, and competing at a high level."

The first New York Derby went to the Red Bulls. Will NYC be able to get revenge on their city rivals during the first-ever meeting at Yankee Stadium? Or will their opponents from "across the river" make it a derby double this evening?

Make sure you don't miss out on the newest derby to hit the pitch!
