The Belgian superstar is reportedly growing anxious over his future at Wolfsburg, as transfer deadline day grows closer.

Wolfsburg ace Kevin De Bruyne is growing anxious over a Manchester City deal, and is losing sleep over the prospect of missing out on a switch to the Etihad before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

This is according to Goal, who claim that the transfer saga which has also seen the Belgian superstar’s name linked with PSG, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United, has left him “stressed”.

As written in the article, the former Chelsea man was expecting to receive permission from his Bundesliga side on Friday to board a plane to Manchester to finalize the switch, but that call never arrived, thus forcing him to travel with Die Wolfe for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Koln.

Sources “close to the player” have revealed that De Bruyne has suffered of sleepless nights in the wake of this transfer saga, according to Goal. However, it is believed that the player will not hand in a transfer request in order to force an exit.

German rivals Bayern Munich are also rumored to be chasing last season’s Bundesliga Player of the Year, with the Red Devils tracking the 24-year-old, but the Citizens are tipped as favorites to land the attacker, though Wolfsburg are holding out for more than City’s £50m offer.

De Bruyne enjoyed a stellar campaign last term, scoring 10 goals and racking up 20 assists, as he guided his team to a 2nd spot finish, securing them a spot in the upcoming Champions League season.

Should the Belgian attacker arrive at Man City, he will become the club’s 2nd major summer signing, after Raheem Sterling’s £49m transfer.

What Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini has planned for De Bruyne remains uncertain, whether the Wolfsburg ace will be deployed alongside Sterling and Bony to spearhead the Citizens attack, with rumors linking Argentine goalscorer Sergio Aguero with a Real Madrid switch.
