The Belgian playmaker was key to Manchester City's resurgence against Everton, scoring a goal and contributing with an assist.

Manchester City's victory over Everton was not all good news, as one of their key players could be out for a while with the Premier League's title race as excruciating as ever.

Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne jumped off the bench to score a goal and assist Sergio Aguero for the game's final goal, but he had to leave the pitch with an apparent knee injury.

While trying to control the ball, De Bruyne seemed to pick up the injury all by himself, since the game's ref did not grant a foul ball for the Citizens. The team's medical staff tried to nurse him back to fitness right there, but the playmaker had to be carried away from the pitch on a stretcher.

Here's what fans said about the Belgian's misfortune.

Even coach Pellegrini had his say about De Bruyne's injury.

Manchester City will face Liverpool in the CapitalOne Cup final.
