Koller's men will be heading into this tournament with pride after enjoying an unbeaten streak in the qualifying stage matches.

Austria's UEFA Euro history

The Austrian national team will be appearing for the second time in the European Championship. They made their debut back in 2008 when they co-hosted this tournament, but quickly got eliminated in the group stage after losing in their opening match to Croatia, drawing against Poland and going 1-0 down to Germany. Austria failed to qualify for the 2012 edition of this continental competition, but this year Koller's lads have been playing with passion and ambition, winning nine of their ten qualifiers and drawing the other.

Recent Form

The central European side has been enjoying a winning streak, bagging five wins out of their last five matches played in the past 12 months. Their most notable performance last year was their 4-1 victory against Zlatan Ibrahmovic's Sweden. They amazingly topped their UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying group with 28 points. In March this year, the Austrians secured their highest rank (10th) in the FIFA World Ranking. They've gone one spot down, since then. They hold the 11th place.

Marcel-Koller

Manager's Profile

The former Swedish footballer spent his entire playing career with Swiss side Grasshoppers, making over 400 league appearances in his 19-year spell at the club and winning seven league titles and five Swiss Cups.

Koller kicked off his coaching career at Wil in 1997 and took over at St Gallen two years later, leading the club to their first Swiss championship since 1903/04. His first gig as Austrian head coach came on 4 October 2011 but he failed at his first task, which was to qualify for the 2014 World Cup. His coaching style demands top physical shape from his players and he deeply values the importance of collective defending.
