The legendary footballer, who never won the Copa América title, demanded La Albiceleste's players to win the first major tournament for the team since 1993.

Argentinean legend Diego Armando Maradona has quite an interesting way of "motivating" his compatriots.

During an interview to celebrate his two goals against England in the 1986 World Cup, "El Pelusa" referred to the team that made it to the Copa América Centenario's final. Despite being quite sure that La Albiceleste will end up winning the tournament, Maradona warned Messi & Co. that failure is not an option.

"I'm pretty sure they will win, I'm with them all the way. When you're away, you have to act like you had the Argentinean shirt tattooed on your skin. Of course we'll win, but if they don't do so, they shouldn't return. If they don't bring the trophy back home, don't let them in," Maradona stated.

Although he led La Albiceleste to the 1986 World Cup title, Maradona never won the Copa América with the Argentinean National Team. His best finish in this sort of tournament came in the 1989 edition, when Los Pamperos ended in third place.

It is yet unclear if Maradona will be present at MetLife Stadium next Sunday, as La Albiceleste tries to win their first major trophy since 1993.
