Here is our pre-match preview of the Hungary vs Belgium Euro 2016 knockout match, and the worldwide live broadcast options.

Hungary finished top of Group F with five points, same with Iceland who finished second with an inferior goal difference. Now they have to pay the price of finishing top of the group by facing the second-best national football team in the world, Belgium.

The Red Devils finished second in group E, which was widely seen as the group of death consisting of the likes of Italy, the Republic of Ireland and Sweden. Belgium finished with six points same as Italy after winning two games and losing one against the Republic of Ireland.

Hungary are participating in this tournament for the third time in their history. Their first appearance was in 1964 when they finished third, their best result in their history of the European Championship. On the other hand, Marc Wilmots’ men are on their fifth appearance at the European Championship.

Their best result was in 1980 when they finished as runners-up behind West Germany. They will be hoping to improve their performance in 1980 by making one step ahead and finally clinching the coveted title.

Hungary have faced Belgium five times, most recently in 2009 when the latter won by three unanswered goals. Their first meeting was in the European Championship qualifiers in 1972 when Belgium won 2-1 in Hungary and drew the reverse fixture 1-1. Out of their last five meetings, the Red Devils have won four times and drawn once. Hungary have never beaten Belgium in their history but by virtue of finishing as group leaders in this year’s edition of the competition, they could be inspired to cruise to their first ever win over the second-best national football team in the world.

On Belgium’s side, all eyes will be on Romelu Lukaku who is the second-top scorer in the competition with two goals, one behind Alvaro Morata and Gareth Bale who have three goals each. The Everton man is expected to lead the attack flanked by Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Radja Nainggolan.

But they should expect a tough match against Hungary, who demonstrated to the whole world that they do not fear giant teams such as Portugal. The Magical Magyars pumped three goals past Seleccao’s defence but also received an equal share to end the match 3-3. They may have drawn the game, but managed to win the hearts of many football fans due to their excellent and brave display.
