A huge percentage of Manchester United fans will be pleased with Jose Mourinho’s recent revelation ahead of the club’s Europa League tie against Dutch side Feyenoord.

Jose Mourinho has revealed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will extend his Man Utd contract for one more season. The 35-year-old joined the Red Devils in the summer from French Ligue 1 defending champions Paris Saint-Germain where he had spent four years.

The lethal forward signed a one-year deal with the Old Trafford outfit and there were speculations that he would leave the club at the end of this season to join an unnamed MLS outfit. But now it seems that fans of the superstar outside England will have to wait a little bit more for the expected transfer when his contract with the 20-time Premier League champions expires.

Speaking to journalists ahead of Man Utd’s Europa League tie against Feyenoord on Thursday, Mourinho said this about the bullish forward: 

"We are going to execute the option of a second season. After that he can do what he wants.''

Ibra also confirmed that he had the option to extend his contract at the club for one more year. He however revealed that no contract talks had been initiated thus far. He said:

"For the moment we haven't had any discussions. I have a comment that says one plus one. I feel good, I feel fresh, I feel in shape, so it will probably be a second year. I want to perform like I can do and not waste time.

"The second year goes automatic after one, so if it continues like this, yes.

"Once I stepped into the city the whole city was shining, but I feel it shining now 24 hours, even if it gets dark by three or four o'clock, I'm here and I'm having a good time. I feel comfortable, I feel good. I'm simple, I'm happy.''
