The Mexican striker had been named as a potential target for some North American sides, but negotiations were brought to a halt this week.

Apparently, MLS fans will have to wait a bit longer to watch Chicharito scoring goals in North America, as the Mexican ace is not going to join the league this summer.

Reports by ESPN FC reveal that Bayer Leverkusen's best striker for the past two seasons will remain playing in Europe, as Orlando City, Chicago Fire and LAFC are not prepared to meet his wage demands. Sources close to the negotiation suggest that Hernández asked for 10 million dollars to leave Europe and join the North American league.

Hernández scored 13 goals in all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen this season.

Furthermore, a report by L'Equipe puts Chicharito among the possible replacements for Alexandre Lacazette, who's set to leave Les Lions to join Atlético Madrid.

Despite claiming to be quite happy with the Bundesliga side, Chicharito is looking for a team playing in European competitions next year. His contract with Die Werkself ends in June 2018, and the German club will most likely have a sit down with him and his agent to discuss his plans in order to sign a contract extension.
