Ex-Arsenal player Patrick Vieira has praised Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez, comparing the Argentine to the former Barcelona striker Thierry Henry.
Referring to Henry’s performance years back when he was at his best, Vieira stated that both superstars sat at the same level of greatness. The 34-year-old midfielder emphasized on the South American forward’s powerful abilities to lead his side to success through his wonderful individual contributions.

“Carlos is as good as Thierry Henry,” he affirmed. “They are different players but when you want to win trophies you need a striker who can score 20 to 25 goals a season.

"City have that type of player in Carlos. He is someone who can win you games.

“Even if you don't play well, you know he will create a chance by himself and score it. If you want to win the championship and/or the FA Cup, you need players like that."

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini also acknowledged his captain’s talent, but did not hide his worries over Tevez’s lack of luck in penalties: "He helps control the match,” Mancini declared.

“(But) there is only one problem - penalties. At this moment they are very average, so we will see what happens with the next one."
