The Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper conceded in just two minutes into proceeding against Barcelona.

Tottenham's No. 1 shot-stopper Hugo Lloris endured a nightmarish start in his side's Champions League clash against Barcelona on Wednesday night. The 31-year-old goalie, having been sidelined with an injury in the past weeks, took over from Paul Gazzaniga in-between the sticks for the crunchy affair inside the Wembley Stadium.

However, he was met with an ill-fortune as poor decision-making on his part resulted in Barcelona grabbing the first goal of the night in barely two minutes following kick-off.

Fans were left puzzled after the World Cup winner decided to close down on a long-ball from Lionel Messi to Jordi Alba but failed to reach it. The Spanish full-back laid a pass across for an on-rushing Philippe Coutinho who made no error of the chance just outside Spur's 18-yard-box.

Hugo Lloris's return was marred further after Ivan Rakitic grabbed Barcelona's second in the 28th minute. The Croatian midfielder volleyed home from the edge of the penalty area with an outrageous technique.

Revisiting the role of Lloris leading to Barcelona's opening goal, the Frenchman's blunder was not overlooked by fans on social media. Check out a few of the reactions and responses below:
