Once again, Major League Soccer and Liga MX clubs will battle to win the supremacy of the CONCACAF region in the Champions League. But this time, MLS sides hold an edge over their Mexican counterparts.
Club Toluca was eliminated from the competition by Sporting KC last week, leaving MLS with four clubs to battle for the trophy, while Liga MX teams will only have three teams trying to defend the league's streak of wins in this competition, which has been going on since the 2006 edition.
The remaining MLS teams in the competition are: New York RB, Houston Dynamo, Sporting Kansas City and the current MLS Cup holders, Atlanta United. Liga MX sides still participating in the tournament are Santos Laguna, Tiges UANL and Monterrey. The only team that does not belong to any of these leagues is Club Independiente from Panama.
Contrary to what happened in the previous round, the quarter finals wil only be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, with two ties being played on each day.

- New York RB (MLS) vs Santos Laguna (MEX) - 19:00 CT/ 20:00 ET, at Red Bull Arena.
- Houston Dynamo (MLS) vs Tigres UANL (MEX) - 21:00 CT/ 22:00 ET at BBVA Compass Stadium.
Wednesday, March 6
- Independiente (PAN) vs Sporting Kansas City - 19:00 CT/ 20:00 ET, at Estadio Agustín Murquita Sánchez.
- Monterrey (MEX) vs Atlanta United - 21:00 CT/ 22:00 ET at Estadio BBVA.
