According to the latest reports, Chelsea are confident of winning their battle against their transfer window ban. Initially, the Blues were prohibited from signing players until next summer but they now strongly believe they will be permitted to dive into the market come January.
The London giants were found guilty of breaching regulations over signing youth players and were thus slapped with a two-window transfer ban which was intended to prevent them from signing players last summer and the upcoming winter. However, the Blues appealed this decision to the CAS and are confident the ban will be lifted.
As a result, the Premier League heavyweights are looking at transfer targets, with two names being mentioned in a Daily Mail report. They are Timo Werner and Callum Wilson.
The British publication state that Lampard is keen on another striker to help Tammy Abraham and is now looking at the RB Leipzig and Bournemouth. Wilson is 27-year-old, which means he is a ready-made player with a few years ahead of him.
The Englishman has been linked with a Stamford Bridge move before, namely during Sarri's reign. Wilson scored 14 goals for the Cherries in the English top-flight last season and already has five goals under his belt this term after nine games.
As for Werner, he is the more difficult player to attain. Bayern Munich, a club which have heavily been linked with the German forward, would not let Chelsea go and sign the RB Leipzig ace without a battle. Nonetheless, he is a quality player and would boost Lampard's side.
