The Red Devils have everything in place to hire a new defender, but unfortunately for them, he will not join them until next season.

At long last, Ed Woodward and his crew have landed one of the team's priority signings. The only problem for their fans is that they will have to wait a bit to see him play at Old Trafford.

According to a report by Italian journalist Fabio Santini, Manchester United and Napoli have agreed terms to see defender Kalidou Koulibaly joining the English club next summer. The deal, as per Santini's information, will make the Red Devils pay a bit over $83M.

"Napoli will sell Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester United for a figure of around 70-75m euros. It seems all done. Naturally, such a deal will be closed only in June and certainly not in January in the winter transfer window," the journalist stated in the TV show Il Processo.

The deal is reportedly intended to help Napoli's complicated financial situation, added to the fact that most of the team's leaders had a falling out against team president Aurelio Di Laurentiis, which even saw Carlo Ancelotti leave his position as coach.

Koulibaly has been widely praised by Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with both managers trying to work out a deal to have the Senegalese footballer playing at Old Trafford. Now, the African defender seems set to join one of the most popular teams in the world, but their fans will have to wait until the first days of June to see the player wearing Manchester United's jersey.
