Coach Diego Alonso is well aware of the team's needs during their maiden season in the MLS.

Inter Miami is less than a month away from making their debut in the MLS, and while hiring top-caliber names has proven to be quite difficult, the debutant club is set to make waves with one or two of their potential transfers this summer.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, coach Diego Alonso openly admitted the names of two players that could join the club this summer as designated players.

The first name on that list is none other than Luka Modric. The Croatian playmaker has been impressive during this season for Real Madrid, and while he still has some time left in his deal with Los Blancos, owner David Beckham and Co. are ready to double his current wages in order to see him join the league.

The other player, who is out of a deal next summer, is Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan came close to join Atlético Madrid this winter, but a complicated negotiation between Los Colchoneros and PSG saw the deal collapse.

As of now, the most feasible option to join Inter Miami is Liga MX champion Rodolfo Pizarro, who had a great regular season with Monterrey, but his poor performance during the title matches with Rayados could see him leave the club for a hefty deal. In fact, Pizarro worked under coach Alonso at Monterrey.

Coach Alonso has praised all these names, but he also urged the club to look after those footballers who can get the job done regardless of how they are named.

"We're dealing with this one day at a time. We want to hire a good group of players. The key is to hire reliable footballers and not being dazzled by their name," Alonso said.
