The Blaugrana side needs to part ways with the player in order to fund other transfers, and Bayern execs are reportedly uninterested in keeping him around.

Barcelona is already planning the upcoming summer transfer window, and according to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana side knows that any chance of adding more players will rely on how many they can sell.

With that in mind, the team has identified Philippe Coutinho as one of the players they can offload, but his poor season at Bayern München forbids them from asking too much money for his transfer. So, in an article published by the Spanish newspaper, the notion of watching Coutinho leave on a cut-price deal is a reality.

The Catalan side expected to see Coutinho making his loan deal at Bayern made permanent this summer, but the Bavarian club is not willing to pay the $100M buyout clause included in the deal. Hence, Blaugrana execs have reportedly agreed to see the player off for around $85M.

If Barcelona decides to follow this path, then the Catalan club will take a massive loss from this transfer. Los Culés paid Liverpool over $180M for the player's services in January 2018, and selling him for half that price would take a massive toll on their finances.

The current La Liga champions are desperate to sell more players to lower their payroll. Added to Coutinho, the futures of Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal and even Arthur Melo have been deemed to be far away from Camp Nou, but only time will tell if there is a team willing to meet the Blaugrana side's asking price for each one of them.
