The midfielder will be looking at his options if things do not change to favor his side.

Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne has fueled transfer speculations by throwing his future at the club in doubt. The 28-year-old Belgian international has revealed that he could consider moving elsewhere if the Etihad outfit's European ban is not lifted.

Back in February, the reigning Premier League champions were punished with a two-year ban from European competition by UEFA. The sanction came after an investigation revealed that the Citizens were guilty of ‘serious breaches’ of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations. They have since appealed the verdict to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and are awaiting the outcome.

With the club's fate yet to be known, Kevin De Bruyne is not leaving anything to chance regarding his future. In an interview with Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, he outlined his plan which could see him depart from City in the coming years.

“I’m just waiting,” he declared.

“The club told us they are going to appeal and they are almost 100 hundred per cent sure they are right. That’s why I’m waiting to see what will happen. I trust my team.

“Once the decision is made, I will review everything. Two years would be long, but in the case of one year, I might see.

“I play for one of the best teams in the world, play in England – for my competitive view the best competition – and I like that. “It remains a challenge to be the best, and I need that too.”

De Bruyne has three years remaining on his current City contract. The Belgian leads this season's Premier League assists charts with 16 assists. He has also scored eight goals in 26 appearances.
