Interestingly, the Frenchman's hat-trick was the Red Devils' first in the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. Robin van Persie was the last player to manage the feat for the club against Aston Villa in 2013.

The day's goals took the Martial's tally for this Premier League season to 14, and his overall goal contribution in 35 appearances to 24 (19 goals and 5 assists). So far, the striker has scored seven times in his last eight appearances.
