Although the Scudetto race has finally been decided, there's still much to play for on the final matchday. For starters, there's one relegation spot yet to be decided, and after today, fans will see whether newly promoted Lecce will be sent back down to Serie B or whether Genoa's stay in the top flight will end after 13 seasons. In addition, Atalanta, who have shown significant improvement over the last few campaigns under Gian Piero Gasperini's tenure, will be hoping to finish as runners-up in Serie A, but Inter, who are under the guidance of Antonio Conte, will have other ideas as the Nerazzurri seek to enter a new era and become a competitive force again in Serie A.
Match of the round: Genoa - Hellas Verona
Genoa come into this game having suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to Sassuolo in their last match, and prior to that, the Grifone were beaten 3-0 by Inter. Currently in 17th spot, they'll be traveling to face Hellas Verona. Technically, Davide Nicola's men are safe even if they lose this game - provided that 18th-placed Lecce also lose their own game to Parma. As such, they will want to beat Verona, who recently ended their own poor run of form by defeating recently relegated SPAL 3-0 and just may want to end their own season on a high note by causing trouble for a Genoa side who keep leaking goals at an alarming rate.
To complicate matters, Nicola won't be able to even guide his team, as he's suspended for this match.

Match of the round: Lecce - Parma
It's win or nothing for Lecce as they host Parma, and even that may not be enough to guarantee survival in the top flight for Fabio Liverani's side. They will need Hellas Verona to do them a big favor and beat Genoa in order to avoid demotion to Serie B. However, here's a curious stat: Lecce have never lost a game in which they've taken the lead, with nine wins and two draws to date. So, if they can go ahead against the Crociati, they have a good chance to win their final match.
The question is, will it be enough? If they win and Genoa wins, they will still be relegated as the Grifone hold the superior head to head record. Suffice it to say, Lecce's fate is not in their own hands, and that is not a position any team wants to be in - especially not on the final match day.

Talking points ahead of matchday 38
Who's going to get relegated?
As things stand, two teams have already been demoted to Serie B: Brescia and SPAL. One spot remains, and it will either be Genoa or Lecce who gets sent back to the second tier. Lecce were newly promoted from the 2018/2019 campaign and will be desperate to avoid being sent back down; they currently sit in 18th place on 35 points.
Meanwhile, Genoa are in 17th place on 36 points. The Grifone have been featuring in the top flight since the 2007/2008 season, and narrowly escaped relegation last term by finishing in 17th place. They will come into their upoming tie on a two game losing streak. Will they be so lucky this time around?
How the table looks ahead of matchday 38
A key battle for second spot
Atalanta have been on fire all season, and La Dea haven't lost a game since January 20th. They now have a chance to finish as Serie A runners-up, which will be their highest ever finish and certainly will be the crowning achievement on what has been a very successful season for Gian Piero Gasperini's side ahead of their Champions League tie later this month.
Impressively, Atalanta are the highest scoring side in Serie A by a milestone, and could reach a century of goals should they hit at least two goals against Inter in Saturday's tie. However, the Nerazzurri will be seeking to finish in second spot which will present their highest ever finish since the 2010/2011 season. Although they were unable to beat Juventus to the Scudetto, Antonio Conte's side still put up a good fight, and they will look to come back stronger next season. They'll also want to be the first team to finally knock Atalanta off their stride since already-relegated SPAL managed their shock 2-1 win back in January and match their highest points total since winning the Scudetto in the 2009/2010 season.
