Atletico Madrid new-boy Luis Suarez was off to a flying start in his debut for the club in Sunday's La Liga encounter with Granada. The 33-year-old striker came off the bench to be involved three goals as Los Colchoneros run away with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Granada.
After spending six seasons at Barcelona, the Uruguay international sealed a painful exit this week after being told that he was not part of the club's plans for the foreseeable future. Paramount to the player's conditions to forfeit payouts for remainder of his contract, he asked for a move to league rivals Atletico Madrid which he completed this week.
In what was his official debut for Diego Simeone's side, Suarez was named on the bench and was introduced into the fray inside the 71st minute. Prior to his arrival on the pitch, Diego Costa, Joao Felix and Angel Correa ensured that there was the Wanda Metropolitano outfit was in cruise-control. In less than a minute after replacing Costa, Suarez assisted Marcos Llorente for the game's fourth goal.
13 minutes later, the former Real Madrid starlet returned the favor and assisted the ex-Barcelona superstar for his debut day goal before Granada responded with a consolation goal two minutes later. Suarez then added his second in the third minute of stoppages to end what was a perfect audition.
