Hosts Porto come into this match having slumped to a 3-2 defeat to Pacos de Ferreira over the weekend, which leaves them in fourth spot in the Primeira Liga and now six points behind league leaders Sporting CP. However, the Dragons recovered well from an opening day loss to Manchester City by beating Greek side Olympiakos 2-0 on matchday two to move up to second in the table, and will be hoping to consolidate their grip on that place as they take on Marseille on matchday three.

It's set to be a clash of two Portuguese managers as the visitors are currently led by Andre Villas-Boas, and this will be the first match for Marseille since suffering a heavy 3-0 loss to Manchester City on October 27th. L'OM had their Ligue 1 match against Lens called off last weekend and they will be bitterly disappointed to have failed to win what should have been a straightforward match against Olympiakos that now leaves them bottom of their quartet.

Simply put, this game against Porto is now a must-win tie as we are now approaching the mid-way point of the group stages, thus putting even more pressure on the visitors. Domestically, Marseille are in solid form, sitting in fifth place and unbeaten in their last five - albeit three of those games have resulted in draws. Although they did beat PSG in Le Classique earlier this season, they have now slipped six points behind Les Parisiens, who have since recovered from a bad start to the season to vault to the top of the table.

Marseille have been in terrible form in the Champions League for quite some time - in fact, they've lost their last 11 games in this competition. However, Porto haven't been in the best of form lately, either, with wins in just two of their last six across all comps. That being said, Marseille have never beaten Porto in four prior attempts, with three losses and one draw to date, so it will be very interesting to see if they can finally shake off that hoodoo when the two sides meet once again this Tuesday.
