The Blues are reportedly ready to cut their losses with one of their two major signings of the 2020 summer transfer window.

Erling Braut Haaland's exploits in the UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga have a number of European giants eyeing a move for the Norwegian superstar. After making European history in Dortmund's round of 16 triumph over Sevilla, rumors linking the 20-year-old with the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, and others returned to the fore.

One club keen on the former Salzburg sensation are Chelsea. Having scored 47 times in 47 appearances for Dortmund so far, netting 31 times in 29 matches this season, it comes as little surprise to see London giants' interest in Haaland.

This is not the first time the Blues have been linked with the Norwegian. However, Don Balon have made an eye-catching claim, reporting that Abramovich's side are ready to sell one of their 2020 marquee summer signings in order to fund a move for the BVB goalscoring machine.

That man is none other than Timo Werner, the $59M summer acquisition who is yet to prove he was worth all that money. A lot was expected from the German international upon agreeing to move to Stamford Bridge, but the former RB Leipzig ace has cut a frustrating figure under Lampard and now Tuchel, managing only five goals in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has contributed to 13 goals in 27 outings in the English top-flight, having assisted eight goals in the EPL, and has netted three times in seven UEFA Champions League outings. While his overall play has been poor, Werner's numbers aren't as shocking as you would expect, so the claim that Chelsea are ready to cut their losses might come at a surprise.

Then there is the issue of Haaland's preference. With Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man City, and Liverpool said to be interested, the Blues could find it difficult to win the race for his signature.
