The 2020 edition of this tournament was quite tumultuous, and this year, CONCACAF's plan to give its champion a fighting chance to make it to the final stages of the FIFA Club World Cup will give the tournament a revamp and a new look.

With current champions Tigres out of the tournament, the crown will be up for grabs for all 16 teams. Four teams from Liga MX and four more from the MLS will begin the competition as favorites, but teams from Central America should not be snubbed. Costa Rican sides Alajuelense and Saprissa will surely add flavor to the tournament and will pose a threat to their rivals in the upcoming weeks.

All the action will kick off on Tuesday with the game between Honduras' club Olimpia and Portland Timbers. Later that day, Alajuelense and Atlanta United will lock horns in one of the most interesting games in this round. Haitian minnows Arcahaie will host Cruz Azul in the most uneven matchup of this round to wrap up Tuesday's activity.

Wednesday will give fans a chance to see Santiago Solari's América facing Olimpia. Las Águilas are the most winning club in this tournament, and they will try to put up a good show when they make the trip to Central America. Prior to that match, León and Toronto FC will surely give fans a good match to witness in the Mexican city of León.

The first legs will come to an end on Thursday, with the Columbus Crew visiting Nicaragua's Real Estelí. Later that day, Mexican club and 2019 champions Monterrey will lock horns against Atlético Pantoja. Will there be any surprises in any of these games?
