FC Cincinnati will play their first game at their new stadium against Inter Miami on May 16th.

The 2021 MLS season has only just started, but there are plenty of exciting new developments already underway. Recently, Inter Miami announced that they've secured a naming rights partner for their new stadium, and now the Herons have been joined by fellow new club FC Cincinnati.

Founded in May 2018, the Orange and Blue first started playing in 2019, and are now in their third season. Last year saw them finish in 14th in the Eastern Conference and 26th overall in the league, so naturally, after missing out on the playoffs, Jaap Stam's side will be looking to do much better this time around.

FC Cincinnati kicked off their third season in the top flight with a two-all draw against Nashville last weekend, and they now have some exciting news for their fans.

Their $250 million stadium, which is set to open next month, will now be called the TQL Stadium after the club and freight brokerage firm Total Quality Logistics (TQL) recently inked a multi-year deal for the company to have its logo displayed on the venue. TQL's headquarters are located right in Cincinnati.

This contract will give TQL several benefits. This includes both exterior and interior signage, a dedicated seating zone, a branded bar area, as well as opportunities for employee engagement. In addition, the venue's lighting technology will also feature TQL's logo moving across the venue's exterior.

And with social justice being a thing these days, community initiatives to benefit disadvantaged groups are a cornerstone of the partnership as well.

TQL Stadium will open on May 1st, and the first game that will be played at the new venue will be a clash against Inter Miami on May 16th.

Financial details haven't been revealed, but this certainly is an exciting time for FC Cincinnati and their fans, that's for sure.
