Ghana will enter the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the team with the youngest roster at the competition, a report from FIFA has revealed. The Black Stars, who have earned the feat in each of their last four appearances at the tournament, are trailed closely by the United States Men's National Team and Ecuador.
Having failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Ghana returns to the global stage ready to compete with a young core. With the likes of Thomas Partey, Inaki Williams, Mohamed Kudus and Tariq Lamptey in their ranks, the 2010 quarter-finalists will feature in Group H alongside Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
According to the data available, the West African side boasts a squad with an average age of 24 years and seven months - the least by any team participating in the competition. The United States Men's National Team occupies second position with the average age of their roster being 25 years and two months while Ecuador completes the top three with 25 years and six months.

On the contrary, Iran has the oldest team at Qatar 2022 with their average age being 28 years and nine months. Mexico follows with 28 years and five months while Lionel Messi's Argentina completes the bottom with the average age of their roster being 27 years and nine months.
At the age of 40 years and three months, Mexican goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera is the oldest player at the tournament, with Germany's Youssoufa Moukoko being the youngest player. The Borussia Dortmund starlet turns 18 on the first day of the tournament.
