Denmark and Tunisia will go head-to-head for the first set of points at the Education City Stadium Stadium.

Denmark and Tunisia will begin their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaigns when they square off at the Education City Stadium on Tuesday. The two teams will be poised to claim a favorable result before Group D rivals France and Australia take to the stage for their respective openers later in the day.

For the Danish team, expectations are incredibly high as they have consistently proven to be a real force to reckon with at major competitions in recent years. They will go into Tuesday's encounter having managed to reach the semi-finals of Euro 2020 in what was the to the most dramatic and emotional month in their history.

Form-wise, they will go into the clash with Tunisia having won four of their previous five World Cup opening games. Coming off the back of winning each of their first nine qualifying matches and losing only one, Kasper Hjulmand's should fancy their odds against the African side. Needless to say, it will not be a walk in the park, with the Carthage Eagles boasting an impressive record of their own.

The North Africans approach Tuesday's game having lost once in their last nine appearances across all competition. As one of the five teams competing from the continent of Africa, they successfully dealt with the Mali in the play-offs to book their spot in Qatar.

Since then, Tunisia has featured in seven games, and have recorded five wins, one draw and one defeat. Interestingly, the only goals they conceded in the period came in a single game - the a 5-1 defeat to Brazil in a friendly encounter back in September. As far as progression out of Group D goes, the outcome of the upcoming clash with Denmark will be extremely significant and, despite the Danes being favorites, an upset could well be on the cards.

Denmark vs Tunisia: Team news

Denmark will go into the clash with Tunisia without any injury concerns. Their chances have equally been significantly boosted after Andreas Christensen recovered from his ankle injury. Similarly, Jonas Wind has passed a late fitness test after missing Wolfsburg's last Bundesliga game before the World Cup break. Both Christian Norgaard and Yussuf Poulsen will also aim to impress despite being added to the roster later on by head coach Kasper Hjulmand.

On the contrary, Tunisia does not have much to worry about in the fitness department. Aside from Ellyes Skhiri who might be spotted with a mask after he fractured his cheekbone in late October, the North African side should have all their personnel fit for the big occasion.
