Bukari comes clean about CR7-like celebration

CLASS ACT: Ghana striker comes clean about celebration controversy

November 24, 2022 By Oscar Rojas
The Ghanaian ace referred to social media interpretations of his goal celebrations to clarify what he tried to convey when he seemed to mock CR7's signature move.

One of the highlights of today's activity in the FIFA World Cup was the game between Portugal and Ghana, where the European side claimed a narrow 3-2 win. The game had many controversial points, starting with Cristiano Ronaldo's record-setting penalty and Diogo Costa's nearly-fatal mistake in the dying moments of the match.

In-between those moments, Osman Bukari's celebration earned a few looks as he seemed to be mocking Cristiano Ronaldo's trademark "SIUUUU" move after scoring the second goal for the Black Stars, which prompted an explanation from the Crvena Zvezda star.

Using his Twitter account, Bukari admitted to being a Cristiano Ronaldo fan, stating that it was never his intention to make fun or complain about the player's trademark celebration. Moreover, he thanked fans for their support and asked to respect "an elder" such as the Portuguese footballer.

This was Bukari's second international goal for the Black Stars, and even if some took it the wrong way in the beginning, the player's tweet earned over 12,000 likes and over 2,000 retweets, which means that any harm done has been forgiven and his explanation has been dully noted by everyone.
