Poland will aim to grab their first win of the World Cup campaign when they take on Saudi Arabia in a crucial encounter on Saturday.

Poland and Saudi Arabia will square off in a contest that will be critical in determining how Group C plays out at the Education City Stadium on Saturday. The two teams enjoyed contrasting fortunes in their respective opening games and will be poised to get the result in their favor with a couple of group games left.

For Poland, any outcome other than a win could put them in a sticky situation considering they were unable to win their opening group game. The Eagles were dealt a massive disappointment in the curtain-raiser with Mexico, settling for a point following the goalless draw.

Indeed, it was not for the lack of trying as the Europeans had a golden opportunity to snatch all the three points but failed in their quest. Skipper Robert Lewandowski had a day to forget after seeing a penalty that he won being saved by Mexico's World Cup hero Guillermo Ochoa inside Stadium 974 on Tuesday. The significance of this cannot be understated considering Czeslaw Michniewicz's men still have Argentina to play in their final group game. Needless to say, they have the perfect opportunity to make amends, although it might not be as straightforward as seen on paper.

If the performance of Saudi Arabia in the win over Argentina is anything to go by, then Poland cannot rest on their laurels. In the white and blue sky, the Falcons soared, shocking the football fratenity and producing one of the greatest World Cup upsets in living memory. Having conceded Lionel Messi's penalty goal in the first half, not many would have tipped the Asians for an extraordinary remontada. However, that was exactly what happened, with Herve Renard's side impressively putting the current Copa America holders in an uncomfortable position in Group C.

With the win, the Arabians sit in first position and are well on course to securing qualification to the next round. A Rolls-Royce Phantom awaits the players following their historic win over Argentina and will certainly not be a better motivation than this going into the weekend's affair. A win should be enough to the Asians right on course to securing their first run to the knockout stages since 1994.
