The Selecao's poster boy has issued an update on his injured ankle ahead of his side's second game at the World Cup.

Neymar Jr has handed Brazil a massive boost at Qatar 2022 after sharing a photograph of his injured ankle. The 30-year-old forward has began his journey to recovery and is expected to miss his side's clash with Switzerland on Monday after picking up the knock in the win over Serbia on Thursday.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar was taken off late on in their opening 2-0 win over the Serbs and early game photos indicated that the injury might have been severe. This subsequently sparked concerns among the Brazilian fanbase as well as the team despite the plethora options available for any improvisation. At the end of the game, Brazil head coach Tite put all the concerns to bed by stating that Neymar will still play a role in their campaign despite the fears.

The former Barcelona and Santos sensation has now taken to his social media page to provide an update on the status of his injury. His ankle appears to be less swollen and sore in an Instagram story, and it is covered in protective gear in another image. Despite the setback, he seemed upbeat as evidenced by the caption "Boraaaa!!!," which means "Let's go!".

Per the reports coming out of the Brazil camp, Neymar will not be available for the remaining Group G matches against Switzerland and Cameroon. However, he is expected to have a role to play in the knockout stage.
