The Reds have began the process to recruit one of Africa's most-promising talents.

Liverpool have entered the race to sign Mohammed Kudus, a report from the Netherlands has revealed. The 22-year-old is said to be on the radar of the Reds who are apparently ready to make a move for his signature in the coming transfer window.

Kudus has been a revelation for Ajax this season and has impressed in his role as a false nine both domestically and in the UEFA Champions League. Before the break for the World Cup, the attacking midfielder returned 10 goals and three assists across all competitions for the Amsterdam club and has arguably been the club's best player thus far.

In Qatar, the Ghanaian international has been a force to reckon with. Having provided an assist for Andre Ayew's goal in the Black Stars' 2-3 defeat to Portugal, the former FC Nordsjælland starlet made history by hitting a brace against Korea Republic to inspire the West African's their first win at the World Cup.

Ahead of the clash between Ghana and Korea Republic, it was reported that Liverpool had sent scouts to watch Mohammed Kudus. According to speculations, the club had been keeping tabs on the Ghanaian attacker's development since he impressed and capped a Champions League group stage appearance for Ajax at Anfield with a goal in September.

On Monday evening, Dutch reporter Mike Verweij revealed that Liverpool have entered the race to try and sign Mohammed Kudus. With both Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota out with injuries, the Reds are apparently looking for attacking reinforcement before they ease the pair back into the team to help their bids for the season. An official inquiry is now expected to be tabled to Ajax in the coming months although a move in January looks unlikely.
