The American footballer took a heavy knock moments after hitting the ball that gave the USMNT a deserved lead against the Asian side.

Two games had to go by before Christian Pulisic was finally able to score his first FIFA World Cup goal, and he chose the best possible scenario to do so and try to help the USMNT's chances of success.

The Chelsea footballer was found by an accurate pass by Sergiño Dest inside the 6-yard box, and even with two Iranian players guarding him, Pulisic managed to find the back of the net with his right foot.

Pulisic vented quite a bit of frustration during the USMNT's past games, as he had not been able to score for Gregg Berhalter's team. Today, the winger was able to get rid of all the pressure piled up against him with this key goal.

Unfortunately for the footballer, he was not able to celebrate his goal as he was hit hard by Iranian goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand, which caused Pulisic to remain on the pitch for quite a few minutes recovering from that nasty blow to his left thigh.
