Marcus Rasford and Phil Foden scored in quick succession to fire England infront against Wales.

In a night where Wales had a slim chance to progress to the knockout stage, England came out with guns blazing to dash their hopes in a remarkable fashion. The Three Lions exhibited their ruthlessness, hitting two quick-fire goals to assume a comfortable position in the Group B finale.

With no goal being produced in the first 45 minutes, the game sprang to life just five minutes after the break thanks to Marcus Rashford's strike. The 25-year-old striker lined up behind a free-kick and hit a thunderbolt past Danny Ward for the first goal of the night and his second of the tournament. He consequently became the first Manchester United player to score three goals at a major tournament for England since Bobby Charlton at the 1966 World Cup.

Less than two minutes later, Phil Foden got this moment. The Manchester City starlet was a beneficiary of a brilliant ball across by Harry Kane after the Welsh defense were caught in possession in their own half. Watch:

At the time of the goals, USA had taken a 1-0 lead against Iran in the other Group B affair. The development meant that Wales needed to score three goals in order to stand a chance of qualifying to the next round.
