The winger scored the only goal in the game but was not able to carry on playing after his clash with goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.

The game between USA and Iran was decided thanks to Christian Pulisic's heroic goal during the last ten minutes of the first half, and it has to be called heroic because of the toll Pulisic had to pay to score that goal.

Eventually, the player had to leave the pitch during the halftime break to get a general diagnosis of his injury, which prevented him from running while on the pitch moments after the goal. With that in mind, the USMNT's medical staff decided to take Pulisic to a hospital to get a clear idea of the player's problem, and it was reported that Pulisic had picked up an abdominal injury during the collision against goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand.

Fortunately for the team -and their fans, the player himself posted a celebratory picture on social media revealing that he will be ready to play in the KO stages of the competition. The pic was also used to praise his teammates' efforts during the clash against Iran.
