A goal by Mathew Leckie gave the Aussies a chance to return to the KO stage for the first time since 2006, and fans can't get enough of it.

Australia had been waiting for this moment for over 16 years, and just when they thought they needed to pack their bags after their big loss to France, the Socceroos pulled themselves together and managed to beat the odds -and Denmark- to earn a spot in the next round for the first time since 2006.

The Aussies were eliminated for most of the match, and things got worse for them after Wahbi Khazri scored for Tunisia against France. Nevertheless, that goal seemed to spark things for Australia, and a massive drive by Mathew Leckie ended up with the ball in the back of Denmark's net to kick off hope among Socceroos' supporters.

Here is the reaction by Australian fans after Leckie's goal (Image might be geo-restricted).

Australian fans did not move an inch in they were located at public squares, and their reward came when the final whistle was blown, as a big celebration kicked off once they were confirmed as one of the teams in the Round of 16.

The Socceroos will now have to wait for the end of the games in Group C to know the identity of their rival in the next round. Poland and Argentina seem to be the most feasible opponents, as they have an edge over Mexico and Saudi Arabia in that group.
