The Oranje are set to take on the USMNT on Saturday, but according to their coach, they are dealing with a major issue in their squad.

On Saturday, the first stage of knockout rounds begins, with the Netherlands taking on the USA. The Oranje secured their spot at this juncture thanks to winning Group A, and will face the Stars and Stripes with a spot in the quarter-finals at stake.

However, ahead of this match, there appears to be some concerns for the 2010 World Cup finalists. Reports have indicated that a flu-like bug has rapidly spread through the Netherlands camp. Some reports have speculated that the cause of this could be the air conditioning units being used to try to keep temperatures at a comfortable level, but  in any case, Netherlands boss Louis van Gaal was quick to try to downplay any fears in his pre-match press conference.

Van Gaal, who has managed top clubs like Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and Manchester United, and is now in his third spell in charge of the Netherlands noted that "[While] in principle, everyone is fit and available...if [the bug] does [start to] go around in the group, then that's worrying".

The Oranje manager didn't name which players were affected, but with their game against the USA taking place in less than 24 hours, Dutch fans will hope that everyone is fit and ready to go as the round of 16 gets underway on Saturday.
